PLEASE READ THIS FIRST

Motors for Wascomat washers and some other European machines have a Metric shaft, most (but not all) of the ones that we sell have U.S. Standard shafts (i.e. 5/8" 7/8" etc. If the motor number begins with F220--- it has a U.S. sized shaft) you can still use them but you will need to go to your local machine shop or industrial supply store (Grainger is a good one or www.motionindustries.com) and purchase a new motor pulley with the same outside dimensions as your old one, or you can take your old pulley down to your local machine shop and have them machine it to the correct dimensions (sure it takes a little bit of extra effort but look at all the money you will be saving on the motor....) The way that you order European motors is by using the "C" number on the Elmo motor tag (i.e. CVE132E/2-18-R-2T).

The other thing you will need to check is: some of the older 'Single Phase' machines used a mechanical motor start-switch' (or 'Centrifugal Switch') instead of the newer style 'Solid-State Start Switch' You can tell this by looking at the motor: The mechanical start-switch was mounted externally on the end of the motor shaft, directly opposite of the belt pulley (it's usually easier to see by removing the front panel on the washer - you will also see the additional wires going to that end of the motor).

If our motor number does not have a 'CS' after it (i.e. - CVE132H/2-18-R-2T-CS) it will require a solid state start switch. If your old motor has a mechanical centrifugal switch type, and the replacement motor that we sell does not have a 'CS' then it can be upgraded to a solid-state motor start switch, we will provide you with the wiring diagram to do this (however due to the complexity of it you will need to have it done by a qualified service person, this is also a requirement to activate the one-year warranty).

More: Our motors come with a one year warranty, however, due to the temperamental nature of the 'single-phase' motors the warranty will only be activated if the capacitors, motor start-switch, and contactors are replaced/or tested by a qualified technician (verification via copy of invoice is required). We offer an exceptional package deal on these components.
